Reducing stress and anxiety can help lessen the frequency or intensity of your heart palpitations. Breathing exercises and deep relaxation can help to curb a racing heart. Practicing yoga or tai chi can also reduce the frequency of your palpitations. Another way to get your heart to beating normally is called cough CPR. This is accomplished by taking 2-3 deep cleansing breaths followed by a deep cough. Most times, helps in getting your heart back to a normal beat.

Keep a record of how often you have palpitations, when they happen, how long they last, your heart rate at the time of the palpitations, and what you are feeling at the time. This information may help yourdoctor figure out both their seriousness and their underlying cause.

If you have chest pain, shortness of breath, or other concerning symptoms, and are in the emergency room, your cardiac rhythm will be monitored. An emergency intervention will be performed if necessary to restore normal cardiac rhythm.

Prevention:

Whether or not it is related to stress, do your best to reduce the stress in your life. When stressed, a chemical called adrenalin is produced by the body. Adrenalin is appropriate in the “fight or flight” response, but a constant barrage of adrenalin can cause great strain on the body resulting in a rise blood pressure. To prevent palpitations follow these simple rules:

Quit smoking.

Eat a well-balanced, low-fat diet.

Exercise regularly.

Try stress management techniques such as yoga, tai chi, or meditation.

Make sure that your blood pressure and cholesterol are under control.

Treatment:

Treatment depends mainly on what is causing the palpitations. Caffeine is a well known culprit of irregular heart beats. In this case, ingesting non-decaffeinated drinks will reduce heart palpitations. In premenopausal women, too little magnesium in the body can produce an irregular heart beat. A supplement of equal dosages of magnesium and calcium may be helpful in eliminating palpitations. For severe cases, medication is often prescribed, such as Atenolol, a beta blocker. Beta blockers block the affects of adrenaline on the body. If beta blockers are not appropriate, other antiarrhythmics can be prescribed.

If you have chest pain, shortness of breath, or other alarming symptoms, and are in the emergency room, your cardiac rhythm will be monitored. If necessary, cardioversion, an electrical shock performed under light anesthesia, can be performed to restore normal cardiac rhythm.

Ultimately, if palpitations result in loss of consciousness, this is a serious implication. Consult your physician immediately to arrange for proper testing and diagnosis.

Stress is your body’s response to increased tension. Stress is normal: you need stress to accept challenges, to concentrate on doing a difficult task, and to make important decisions. Hence, stress is necessary at work.

But too much stress at work can be harmful to your health, because it unduly increases your production of hormone epinephrine, and thus wearing out your hormonal glands. Chronic stress can cause your body to undergo long-term physiological reactions, resulting in depletion of vital nutrients, including DHEA (a hormone critical to anti-aging and longevity).

Stress at work is one of the main reasons for taking sick leave.

One of the causes of stress at work is a demanding workload with unrealistic deadlines to meet. Time stress is a critical factor in creating stress at work.

In contrast, not having enough work may also be stressful. If an employee works in an unstimulating work environment, he or she may have concern of redundancy or the possibility of loss of employment. This concern is real enough to be stressful.

Frustration at work is another cause of stress. Frustration can result from being passed off in promotion, or unsatisfactory work environment, such as crowded working conditions or a dangerous work place. In addition, interpersonal problems, such as competitiveness at work, frequent confrontation with the public, or resentment from co-workers can contribute to work stress.

Relocation can be work stress in that it involves selling the house, changing schools for children, and the hassles of moving.

Sexual harassment may be a stressful situation for women at work. Sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination in employment.

A passive solution to deal with work stress is to find a new job. Unfortunately, this may not be a long-term solution. As a matter of fact, you might be jumping from the frying pan into the fire. The long-term solution is learning to cope with work stress.

If there is too much workload, it is important to delegate your work to others, especially your subordinates — even if you are a workaholic. Learn to prioritize your work and set realistic goals for yourself as well as for your subordinates.

If your supervisor is always dumping too much work on you, keep a diary or daily journal to document your workload, and make a formal complaint to the higher authority, especially if the extra workload is not within your job description. Remember, you have the right to decline any unrealistic demands on you.

Stress is wearing us out and wearing us down. Every day stress causes people to have headaches, stomach problems, neck and back aches, disrupted sleep-and the list goes on and on. Stress is responsible for missed days of work, diabetes, mobility problems, high blood pressure, heart problems, and depression. Those are just a few of the health issues we are dealing with that are related to stress.

If you do not start to reduce your stress you are making a choice that will influence the rest of your life. Your health will suffer and thereby affect everything else. Your relationships and your happiness are greatly impacted when you let stress takeover your life.

I believe the most important thing we can do in our lives is take care of our health. Once we have that in place, the possibilities for a great life are limitless.

There are ways to reduce stress and make your life happier and healthier. I do not talk about eliminating all stress, because there is such a thing as good stress. Good stress is that excitement you feel when you look forward to a happy event or when you challenge yourself with an exciting project. When I talk about reducing stress, I am focusing on the bad stress that can only hurt you.

By taking care of your health a little bit at a time, you can reduce your stress in a manageable way. Stress is actually your reaction to an event or situation. It is your perception that you need to change, but before you attempt to change your perspective on outside circumstances, you need to take care of the inside. Once you start taking care of your health and make it a priority, you will find that you are able to handle situations and circumstances that used to enrage, upset, or annoy you. When you make your health a priority and good health your choice, everything will fall into place.

There are three steps you can take, today, and start reducing your stress immediately.

1) Breathe

When you are stressed your breathing tends to become shallower and your body suffers because of this. You are not getting oxygen to all the parts of your body that need it, and you will not handle things as well. You will not have optimum body or brain function. And you need your brain working! The human brain makes up only 2 percent of your body weight; however, it consumes 20 percent of the oxygen you breathe in.

You can actually increase your creativity and learning power by taking a few minutes to relax and breathe deeply before starting any new project. Here’s how to practice your deep breathing:

Put your right hand on your stomach, right below your rib cage. That is where your diaphragm is. You want your stomach to rise when you breathe deeply; your hand will help you determine if it is. Now, you are going to breathe in through your nose and you want to see your hand rise. If your chest rises, you aren’t getting the breath in deeply enough. Then you will let the air out through pursed lips and empty the air out completely. Do this three times.

Three deep breaths can make all the difference in the world. You may stop yourself from saying something you will later regret, or you may stop yourself from reacting to someone or a situation with anger. You will also be giving yourself a few seconds to evaluate where you want to go with a conversation.

This is also a wonderful technique to use throughout your day to stay calm and be present, and is one of the best stress reducing strategies I can offer to you-use it!

2) Sleep

One of the most important things you can do for your health and also to combat stress is to get enough sleep. I know you are may be thinking-yeah right. I have too much to do, etc. But why does sleep always suffer?

Sleep is so important to our health. We get irritable when we don’t rest enough. We are not as creative and we cannot think as sharply. We lose focus during the day. We also can end up eating more. There are hormones that control your appetite that get out of whack when you don’t get enough sleep. Some of you may have noticed that when you haven’t slept well, you are hungrier the next day and you crave carbs. That isn’t your imagination. It is a physical result of not getting enough sleep.

Most adults need about eight hours to function at peak efficiency during the day. So, how do you go about getting enough sleep? I am going to tell you. You make it a priority. You don’t hope it will happen, you might get lucky and maybe you’ll get to bed early… you make it a priority. You establish a bedtime and you just do it.

You could put it on your calendar, just as you would any other important appointment. You tell other people that you live with, that this is a priority, and ask them to be quieter. Then you put in ear plugs, and go to bed.

Turn off the computer. There will always be work to do. It’s not as if you are actually going to finish all your work if you stay up.

Turn off the television and set the tape or Tivo programs for the weekend.

Why is sleep the thing that always gets neglected? It should be a priority in our lives—it is that important for good health.

If you have trouble falling asleep, it may help to establish a routine. A hot shower or bath before bed can help you relax. Having a book or magazine waiting for you next to your bed for ten minutes of reading could be helpful.

You may want to examine your diet. Caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine in the four to six hours before bedtime can disrupt your sleep. A small amount can help induce sleep initially, but it invariably disrupts deep sleep cycles later.

Avoid heavy meals three hours before bedtime.

Some snacks before bed that are high in tryptophan, which promotes sleep are dates, figs, milk, turkey and whole grain crackers.

Try moving your bedtime up fifteen minutes at a time. Consistency in your bedtime and waking time is also very good for you. Your body gets used to regular sleep cycles and you will wake up more rested.

Regular and enough sleep can make all the difference in the way you approach each day and how healthy you will stay. You will reduce your stress and see the results very quickly.

3) Drink Water

Water should be a part of everyone’s day. Lots and lots of water.

The human body is two-thirds water. Water is an essential nutrient that is involved in every function of the body. It helps transport nutrients and waste products in and out of the cells. We need it for all digestive, absorptive, circulatory, and excretory functions. It helps us utilize all of the water-soluble vitamins. We also need it to maintain proper body temperature. By drinking enough water each day, you can ensure that your body has all it needs to maintain good health.

As soon as you get up in the morning, have a glass of water. For some of you, that is not a problem, but I know for many of you that will seem like a big deal. Get over it. If you drink it first thing in the morning, you get a glass out of the way. During the day, you can keep a bottle or glass near you to remind you to drink it.

If you suffer from headaches, you may be dehydrated. Before you reach for over- the-counter meds, drink a big glass of water. You are inviting stress, anxiety, and that feeling of “being annoyed’ into your life when you don’t drink enough water.

If you are not sure if you are drinking enough, here is a little trick. Take your weight, divide that number in half, and that number in ounces in the least amount your body needs. If you drink caffeine or alcohol, add more. When you exercise, add more.

Do not be fooled by the simplicity of these suggestions. You can make the choice to continue feeling anxious and stressed or make the choice to start feeling better, calmer, and healthier.

from wikiHow – The How to Manual That You Can Edit

For some girls the worst case scenario in life is having to live with their dad. Here are some ways to get over the stress and get back into your own life.

Steps

First of all if you are young you might be able to avoid the pitfalls of true emotional disruption. Youth is ALWAYS an advantage. However if you are older and find you have no choice but to move in with mom and dad you need to keep yourself sain.

Most woman especially in their 30’s find new romantic awarenesses happening in thier imagination everyday. These thoughts are pure and healthy and can even help your self esteem and outlook on life. But sometimes fathers like to be apart of thier daughters lives when they see them so interested in love. You may be looking out for a new BF or Lover but your dad sees it as a reason to hug you or try and make it his bussiness because you are living in his house. You must conceal your intentions and it will lead to stress free days. If you are like me and many other girls your mind is not easily gaurded. This may be an easy portal for others to enter. A person who is thinking of pure love may find others including thier father saying nasty things to them or for them to over hear. Not to fear noone can read your truest form of love, the love and respect you have for yourself. Keep yourself seperate and you will keep your virtue. This may lead to stress and an upset unrelaxed mind. For this just meditate and allow yourself to feel your complete true beauty going through your body and mind. You will feel right soon. Lastly pray to whomever you feel understands you, be it a person or a god. They will give you power to persevere and follow through with your goals. Peace and love Michelle

Tips

Have a place to go at least once a week far way from anyone and meditate. Or go to places where you feel comfortable and make the day belong to you. Feel good about yourself because it is a true emotion. Don’t allow anything anyone says or does to influence that.

Be nice always to everyone and they will never have a solid reason to bother or hurt you directly.

Be calm and composed and you can keep your dignity in any situation.

Think of how animals live thier serenity and there savage nature and think of how you differ from them.

Keep yourself and your space neat and clean.

Do not over eat

Excersise

Take pride in your appearance

Do not let sex control you but be sexy, it’s apart of life!

Have fun no matter what!

Warnings

If you are not pure of heart your true aggression may lead to your downfall. Love everyone and ignore what is bad.

If you are constantly feeling stressed then you probably want to know what are the common causes of stress. It is a good thing that you have stumbled upon this article because here you will know some of the most common causes of stress and what you can do about them.

Nowadays, almost everyone is complaining about feeling stressed. Stress, it seems, is the bane of modern existence. The problem with people who are constantly stressed is that they do not take time to investigate the roots of their condition This is the reason why they fail to find a lasting solution for it. What they do is simply apply “bandaid” solutions to the problem. Though they sometimes work in alleviating stress, the effect is often temporary and the stressful feeling almost always comes back again if the cause of it is not nipped in the bud.

Some of the most common causes of stress include diseases, changes in ones environment, relationship issues, major events such as births and deaths among family and friends and failure to achieve a certain goal. People have the misconception that only events that are perceived as negative lead to stress. The truth is even events that are generally regarded as positive can also result in a stressful feeling. For example, having a new baby can bring lots of joy but it can also bring stress to a parent.

Some experts believe that since stress starts in the mind (it usually starts with a perception) then the mind can get rid of it as well. One of the things that you can do to relieve stress is to look at things on a different light. One of the ways to do this is to break up the event that is causing stress. The birth of a child, for example, becomes stressful only because of the feeling of being overwhelmed with the responsibility of child rearing. Focusing solely though on the joys of having a baby can alleviate the stressful feeling.

How to relieve stress is a concern of almost all modern individuals. We live in such a tumultuous and eventful era and we are bombarded with constant stimulus from all sides and this is the reason why we are almost always in a state of stress.

Being stress should not be taken lightly and people who suspect that they are suffering from stress should immediately find ways to get rid of it. The best way, of course, to relieve stress is to eliminate the root cause of it in our lives. This is sometimes easier said than done. For example, if the main cause of your stress is your job it may not be practical for you to get rid of it right away.

In cases such as this, you would have to deal with stress through palliative means. There are many things that you can do to induce a relaxed stated in order to get rid of stress. Some people say that simply tending to their hobbies is a good way to ease the tension of everyday existence.

To avoid feeling stress with your work, what you can do is take little breaks during the day or whenever you feel that the pressure is just too strong. You don’t even have to go out of your cubicle or your office. You can simply listen to a relaxing music on your mp3 player or you can just take a short nap.

Talking to friends and loved ones is also a good stress reliever. So if you feel the stress monster creeping up then why don’t you pick up that phone and call your best bud or your significant other.

Stress should not rule your life especially because there are things that you can do to address it if eliminating the cause is not probable.

Fibromalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome are two conditions with very similar symptoms and this is the reason why people are often confused between the two of them. If you want to know what is the difference between fibromalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, then it is a good thing that you’ve decided to read this article because here you will be enlightened as to the real difference between the two diseases. If you suspect that you or anyone you know is suffering from either of the two condition then reading this article will provide you with some answers to your questions.

First of all you you should know that there are more than one theory with regards to the similarities of fibromalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. There are experts who believe that the two are completely different from each other then there are those that are saying that the two have a connection. One theory that is being favored by the medical community is that there is a broader overlapping condition that covers both conditions in question.

Both fibromalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome sufferers experience the following symptoms: memory loss, inability to concentrate, headaches, numbness, depression, poor sleep quality and generalized weakness.

Now let us discuss the differences between fibromalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. The most telling difference between the two is the fact that fibromalgia sufferers experience debilitating pain while those suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome are experiencing disabling exhaustion. The cause of the former is often attributed to physical injury while the cause of the latter is generally unknown and the condition strikes up suddenly without warning.

Whether you are suffering from fibromalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome there is hope for you. Both conditions will improve with the improvement of general health. This means that people suffering from either the two disease or both will benefit from general health measures such as improved nutrition and a balanced diet.

Are you always feeling stressed even if the situation you are in is not generally regarded as stressful? Do you find yourself exhausted all the time? Do you feel sleepy and generally lacks energy even during daytime? Then you are probably suffering from a condition known as adrenal chronic fatigue. The term is actually coined by Dr. James L. Watson who has a written a book about it in 1998. The condition is caused by an imbalance of cortisol and low adrenal functions. This is the reason why people suffering from this condition always feel tired and sleepy. The condition is said to be a result of stress, both physical and emotional.

If you are suffering from adrenal fatigue, do not fret. There are known solutions to your problem and they will be discussed here in this article.

Because the condition is caused by a hormonal imbalance then the best solution for it is to restore the balance of the hormones of the body. Sometimes, this can be fixed by changing ones diet. Hormonal imbalance can occur when we eat too much unnatural and processed foods. This is because these kinds of food are devoid of the nutrients that the body needs. Eating a healthy diet therefore can restore hormonal balance in the body and can cure adrenal fatigue at the same time.

If you feel that you need an extra boost in dealing with adrenal fatigue then you must know that there are herbal remedies available that are safe and effective in dealing with the disease. Look for supplement with skullcap, ashwagandha or green tea in it. These herbs are knows as hormone regulators and can greatly help people with adrenal fatigue.
